Production of the second
townhome development of “The
Villas of Aledo” on Old Annetta
Road has begun and will bring
37 new housing units. The
neighborhood of “Brookhollow”
on FM1187 South is in its closeout
stage, with a total of 127
homes.
The Aledo Economic
Development Corporation
continues to implement its
strategic plan in supporting
new and existing businesses.
The AEDC recently produced a
business video which speaks of
our City’s vision, and showcases
several video testimonials by
current business owners. These
businesses share their experience
of what makes Aledo unique,
and the importance of its “sense
of community”. This video is
designed to inform, attract, and
entice companies, corporations,
and entrepreneurs potentially
interested in establishing their
businesses in the City of Aledo,
but it is also extremely insightful
and resourceful to families
considering relocation to Aledo.
The video may be found on our
website at www.Aledo-Texas.

The Gateway Business
Corridor (FM1187/Bankhead
to Oak Street) is beginning to
take form with its first flagship
business, “Tri-County Electric
Cooperative”, preparing to occupy
the 42,000 s.f. office building on
Bailey Ranch Road; the 16,000
s.f. “D1 Fitness Center” is in
its final stages of construction;
“First Bank” is expected to
begin construction of its Aledo
branch in April; and, the retail
pharmacy chain, “CVS”, has
been approved by Aledo’s City
Council for its 10,925 s.f. store
to begin production. Additional
commercial zoning for restaurant,
retail, and office space is available
within this business corridor, and
the City expects more interest in
the near future.
20 EAST PARKER COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE | RELOCATION & BUSINESS GUIDE 2019- 2020
The new businesses of
“Floralee”, “Two Sisters Tea
House”, the long-awaited “Bistro
1031” restaurant, and the
relocation and new ownership
of “The Complete Backyard”
are attracting local attention in
the Downtown Corridor. In the
Southgate Corridor, we’ve also
had activity: “Bearcats Donuts”,
“Sanders Allstate Agency”, and
“Bearcat Dollar” have all recently
opened.
The City now has a continuous
sidewalk from I-20, through the
downtown area, to the southern
city limits on FM 5. The second
and final grant-funded sidewalk
project at the western boundaries
of the City of Aledo is scheduled
to begin Fall 2019. Completion
of this project will connect
sidewalks throughout the entire
City, increasing public safety for
students who walk to school,
resident pedestrians, and area
bicyclists.
In our Parks Department,
Aledo Commons’ new parking
lot was recently finished and
sidewalks were added to connect
the parking lot to the “Aledo
Veterans Plaza”. Permanent
restrooms are now open. The
next upcoming addition to Aledo
Commons is an amphitheater
in the northwestern corner. The
