Instruction in Aledo ISD is
focused on increasing critical
thinking and writing by all
students. With this area of
refinement comes an increase in
academic rigor to help guide our
learners for the future.
Success in Aledo ISD is part of
the culture. Growing the greatness
extends from the classroom to
extracurricular activities and
to the community. The Aledo
trademark “A” is one of the most
recognizable in the state and
it represents the commitment
to excellence and a legacy of
champions.
Aledo ISD is consistently
one of the top finishers in the
University Interscholastic League’s
Lone Star Cup standings. This
award recognizes the most
successful schools in academics,
fine arts and athletics in each
classification.
The 2018-2019 school year
included state champions and
state qualifiers in the fall for
football (a state record-tying 8th
overall), band, cross country,
swimming, debate, robotics,
Future Business Leaders of
America, Health Occupations
Students of America and FFA
(national championship).
The success also leads to future
opportunities as Aledo High
School seniors regularly earn more
than $15 million in combined
scholarship money.
Aledo High School students
also benefit from the district’s
partnership with Weatherford
College. Students are offered
dual-credit courses and have
opportunities to take certification
courses in nursing and welding.
Part of the success and culture
of excellence in Aledo ISD is a
supportive and service-focused
community. This is highlighted by
the district’s Community Partners,
the Aledo Education Foundation,
Aledo Children’s AdvoCats,
Business Development Group
of Aledo, East Parker County
Chamber of Commerce and the
district’s PTO.
The Aledo Education
Foundation’s commitment to
Aledo ISD provides vital support
for teachers in the classroom.
This year the Foundation donated
$180,000 and awarded 57 teacher
grants, which benefited all Aledo
ISD campuses.
