away from the hustle of the city.
Based on the 2000 census from
2000 to 2030, the North Central
Texas Council of Governments
projected Parker County to grow
by 284 percent, from 85,600
people to 328,400. According
to the more recent 2010 census
data, from 2010 to 2035, Parker
County is currently projected to
grow by 66 percent, from 116,927
people to 193,700. The home
starts in Parker County have been
steady and have not been affected
by recent economic downturns in
other parts of the country.
Parker County has a wide
selection of homebuilders to meet
the needs of any homeowner.
Housing in East Parker County
is predominately single-family
detached homes, but there are
also a variety of townhome,
multifamily and duplexes available
in the area, many currently under
construction.
TRANSPORTATION
As the county grows in
population, County Judge Pat
Deen has overseen the progress
and/or completion of many of the
projects approved by voters in a
2016 bond package, including the
county’s most ambitious project
to date – the East Loop, which
will connect Hwy 15 on the north
side of Weatherford to Interstate
20 in Hudson Oaks. The road will
allow travelers to cross the county
without having to go through
downtown Weatherford.
Among the projects completed
from the 2016 bond package
were improvements to Bankhead
Highway, widening the road,
improvement to Vernon/Dean
Drive, allowing safer entrance to
Coder Elementary School in the
Aledo ISD, and an improvement
to a dangerous “S” curve on
White Settlement Road.
