Statistics from area universities indicate that
Weatherford College alumni perform as well or
better academically at the university level than
students who attended those universities straight
out of high school.
“I have learned so much here, and the staff and
faculty are some of the friendliest people I have ever
met,” said psychology major Pattie Sue Noe. “WC
has taught me that I make myself into the person
that I want to be, and that has shown me a strength
I didn’t know I had. I don’t have to blame others
for the trouble that comes my way. I am responsible
for my own life, and that is incredibly liberating.”
A variety of collegiate experiences, including
student organizations, entertainment activities,
student housing and intramural events provide
students with the opportunity to find their niche in
the student body.
“My experiences at WC have given me a
platform to discover what career I want to pursue,
provided me with opportunities to sharpen my
public speaking skills and has allowed me to
become more confident in myself,” said agriculture
communications student Elise Swanson. “Once you
find ‘your people,’ it is a great community where
you can grow with others. I joined the Ag Club last
year and have had many memorable experiences
with my peers through it.”
WC boasts nationally-acclaimed theatre,
music and jazz programs and is also known for
its excellence in men’s and women’s basketball,
baseball, softball and rodeo.
