At Texas Health Neighborhood Care &
Wellness Willow Park, a part of Texas Health
Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, it’s
about community. “Our goal is to see what the
community’s needs are, and based on those, we’ll provide
services,” says Sal Jamal, Administrator of Texas Health
Willow Park. “I can see the community growing, and
we’re growing with it.”
Texas Health Willow Park has a 24/7 emergency department –
but that’s just the beginning. There’s a fi tness center for
all ages, fi lled with classes as diverse as yoga and boot
camps (and a popular smoothie bar, open to the public).
There’s physical, sports and hand therapy. There’s 3D
mammography. It’s these comprehensive services and
more that make Texas Health Willow Park a unique health
care experience.
An Overall Approach to Wellness
“What makes this place work well is it starts with
diagnosis and the ER, but then it doesn’t stop there,”
says Medical Director Dr. Erik Ledig, emergency
medicine physician on staff at Texas Health Harris
Methodist Hospital Fort Worth. “You have rehab to get
someone back to their normal daily routine status. Then
you have the fi tness center to keep them in shape. So
What does it mean to be
part of a neighborhood?
we take an overall approach to wellness.” Ledig has spent
the majority of his career as part of the Texas Health
system. And as a part of Texas Health Willow Park’s
leadership, he knows how unique the facility is. “If the
patient requires a hospital stay, or they need more resources,
we have a seamless transfer process in place to get them
to an inpatient facility in a very timely manner,” he says.
“I CAN SEE THE COMMUNITY GROWING, AND
WE’RE GROWING WITH IT.”

Community Connection
Karyn Roberts, Emergency Nurse, was born and raised
in Weatherford, and has worked within the Texas Health
system for nearly 15 years. She joined Texas Health Willow
Park on day one and was eager to care for her neighbors.
“I was raised here, I raised my family here,” says Roberts.
“It’s home.”
As Roberts drove by the facility while it was being built,
she felt called to serve the community she knows and
loves. And she’s glad she did. Says Roberts, “Have we
saved lives? Absolutely we’ve saved lives.”
