park built along the historic US Hwy 80 in the
1940’s, according to city historian Kay Davis. When
the residents of the area decided to incorporate the city in
1963, the city was named after the park.
The vision of Willow Park being a haven for travelers
along I-20 remains today, with Willow Park growing into the
second-largest city in Parker County, a thriving residential
and commercial community for those just west of the DFW
metroplex.
At around 5,000 residents – mostly young families –
Willow Park is the largest city in the prestigious Aledo ISD,
with portions of the city also falling inside the acclaimed
Weatherford ISD. The award-winning Trinity Christian
Academy, a private parochial school, also sits inside the
Willow Park city limits. The city sees dozens of new home
builds each year as more and more residents flock to the area
for quality schools, quality restaurant and retail choices, and
quality of life.
Willow Park offers the charm of a small town, the
amenities of urban life, and none of the crowds of the “big
city.” Willow Park is the only city in Parker County besides
the county seat, Weatherford, to have its own police and fire
departments.
Commercially, Willow Park continues to thrive. In
addition to upscale “The Shops of Willow Park,” featuring
dining, shopping, and Parker County’s first modern brewery –
the city is also home to Parker County Ice House, Lucchese
Boots, and soon to come, Standard Service. Willow Park
also features a lengthy list of service providers such as banks,
