In 1972, a community hospital,
nestled in a former pecan grove,
opened its doors to
continue an already rich history
of caring for the people
of Parker County.
As the community grew, so did the medical needs.
The hospital collaborated with physicians, nurses,
volunteers and local partners to expand service
offerings to address those needs.
Driven by a commitment to keep quality care close
to home, many milestones were achieved, such as,
the construction of a Women’s Services unit, the
expansion of the Emergency Room and, most recently,
the additional of a catheterization laboratory.
Nearly 50 years later, Medical City Weatherford
takes pride in offering the same patient-centered,
compassionate healthcare to the patients and
families served. As an entity of Medical City
Healthcare, one of the largest network of hospitals
and specialists in North Texas, the facility’s reach
and scale will continue to expand the standard of
care for Parker County and beyond.

“Our programs have produced quality training for our
students, and now the facilities will match the quality of
the instruction,” said Janetta Kruse, dean of workforce and
technical education. “It’s safe to say it’s a historic moment in
the evolution of our college. The three-story training center
will offer programs based on local industry needs and will
combine classroom learning and skills training with on-thejob
training through apprenticeships and partnerships with
business and industry.” n
